NAMA OneShow to Offer More Than Just Cutting-Edge Programs

February 6th, 2010

Chicago, February 6, 2010 -- "While there is no doubt that the National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) OneShow will be a fantastic business-building opportunity, it also delivers an extraordinary opportunity to discover what's new in our industry," LyNae Schleyer, NAMA Senior Director OneShow and Education, NCE, CMP, has announced.

The OneShow, premiering April 28-30 at Chicago's McCormick Place West Hall, promises to be more powerful, fun and inspiring than any previous NAMA Expo.

"We're thrilled to unveil our brand-new education programs for attendees -- free of charge with their registration fee," said Schleyer.

Among the can't-miss programs is the highly anticipated "Moving Forward: The Future of Vending" -- presenting attendees the one-stop opportunity to learn about how technology investments can build customer bases and sales revenue.

Presented by Dr. Michael Kasavana from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, this session will highlight the latest updates to NAMA's new Vending Data Interchange (VDI) Standards and other technologies "that are reshaping the face of vending in America."

Kasavana has recorded several short videos that explain what an operator attending the session can expect to learn, and how the information gathered can help increase sales. The videos, which cover the new VDI standards and the future of vending, can be viewed at the YouTube link found at www.vending.org.

NAMA will also unveil its new Friends & Family package, designed to entertain anyone who comes to Chicago for the OneShow. The basic package will be offered on Thursday, April 29, and includes a private fashion show at Macy's followed by a shopping spree with Macy's Personal Shoppers and a $25 gift card, along with Afternoon High Tea in the beautiful Palm Court at the historic Drake Hotel.

The package has been designed to ensure that those who participate in the Friends & Family program don't miss some of the most exciting moments of the OneShow.

Said Schleyer, "We've planned for our Friends & Family participants to start the day by attending former Nightline anchor and award-winning journalist Ted Koppel's keynote remarks, and have arranged for them to be back at the show in time to help celebrate at the Industry Awards presentation. It's sure to be a day of excitement and fun for everyone."

This all-new package was created just for NAMA and is available to members for the unbeatable price of $149, which includes registration to the OneShow.

NAMA has also arranged a Friends & Family meet-and-greet near the show floor where attendees can make dinner reservations, arrange for other activities to enjoy while they are visiting.

Chicago offers countless sights to see, including entertainment options to experience and attractions for all ages to enjoy. From the Shedd Aquarium to the Field Museum of Natural History to the Adler Planetarium, Chicago's museum campus is world-renowned. The Museum of Science and Industry, which is housed in the former Palace of Fine Arts from the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition, is located a few miles south of downtown.

Registration for NAMA Friends & Family is now open. To receive announcements regarding the program, interested parties are asked to submit their e-mail address to Barbara Moll, Manager, Meeting Services at bmoll@vending.org

"NAMA OneShow is the vending, coffee service and foodservice industry's must-attend event, and will bring together more exhibitors, operator companies and attendees than have been together in quite some time. There simply isn't another show that brings more suppliers and operators together under one roof," concluded Schleyer.

To take advantage of the per-person member price of $99, attendees should sign up now. The attendee brochure, which includes more information about the Friends & Family program, can be found online at www.namaoneshow.org.
